INTERVIEW OF THE MONTH: OLIVIER BIENCOURT, VICE PRESIDENT LE MANS MÉTROPOLE DELEGATE FOR FINANCE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
A CITY OF INNOVATION PROJECT IS SUPPORTED BY THE GREATER, WHAT IS THE PURPOSE ?
Recently, the national press has a ranking which shows, comparatively, that Le Mans is a favorable territory for the creation of businesses (infrastructure, its ecosystem and its training unit). One could be satisfied. The idea, instead, is a further step to strengthen our innovation ecosystem and develop our actions and tools to its new objects are startups – and have specific problems, including access to financing. We must build muscles more about these issues. The metropolis has, in fact, the ambition of this city of innovation, which aims to bring together all stakeholders, starting with the individual skills. His first added value will come from the collaborative dynamic that this place will allow.
WHO ARE THE PARTNERS ?
Yes, you are right to mention the partners. If this project is supported by the Metropolis with the support of Le Mans Development, it only makes sense because it brings together all the actors of the territory. It is based on a shared analysis of what to do better together. And we share the expertise of each; be it – I venture to name a few – the Haum association that manages the FabLab, digital Beehive, which drives the digital sector; as does Le Mans Créapolis for ICC or AMI for the automobile.
WHAT IS INTENDED AUDIENCE ?
There is no barrier to entry, no typical profile. The innovative aspect of this place is to be open to companies, as the creators or project promoters; to students ; the young, the old … collaboration between all will be more beneficial and supporting innovation if we can cross different looks and talents. This is the challenge that unites us all.
